Fore residential builds, a Zoning Compliance Permit is required. The application fee is $125.00. Decatur Zoning Ordinance, which outlines regulations, can be found at https://www.sedev.org/decatur/ . The link also contains an interactive zoning map.
Zoning Compliance and Sign Permit applications should be submitted to the Zoning Compliance Officer, Shawn Roberts. They may be submitted to the Decatur Municipal Building at 116 North Main Street or by email to shawnroberts@decaturtn.net. For commercial or industrial construction, plans must be approved by the Decatur Municipal Planning Commission.
